Anryiel Vand was born in Harantium in the drow ghetto in Beacon. Her entire childhood was a series of one misfortune after another. As a young girl her parents were taken away by the Eccleisarchy and executed for heresy. She was briefly cared for by her brother before he was conscripted into the army to fight the Legion’s advance. Alone, Anryiel tried to make her way on the streets before being ambushed in a back alley and abducted by a notorious criminal gang. Sold into slavery to a Duergar scouting group, Anryiel spent the next fifteen years following the group, acting primarily as their servant and ocasional whore. Throughout her time with the duergar she became facinated by their firearm technology, and secretly watched as they practiced and trained with them. One day, as the group was camping in the wilds of Antar she managed to free herself from her slave collar and steal the gun from the groups leader. Using all she had learned she killed each member of the gang before taking their posessions and disappearing onto the open road searching for something to do with her life.
