Jacob Kargill, known to most simply as “the general” is exactly that: A General (albeit retired for several years). He served with distinction for years in the military of Seren, eventually becoming the general responsible for the entire Azurok region. He retired to live a simple life of a farmer in his final years, but this was interrupted with the Harantium expedition came across the river seeking mercenaries. After listening to the situation, Jacob realized that helping Harantium would be a suicide mission and successfully convinced most of the members of the local fighters guild not to go. That would have been the end of it, except Fenwick, Temulin, and Kvaser came to him and asked him for help. After thinking it over and listening to their story about possibly defeating the entire Orc Legion by killing Temulin’s sister, he decided to don his armor one last time and help get the party to where it needs to be.
